WCOE Midwestern Regional Conference Held in Chicago

Women construction owners, executives and supporters gathered in Chicago October 3rd and 4th for the Midwestern Regional Conference held at the Fairmont Hotel.  The conference, hosted by the WCOE Chicago Caucus featured speakers and panelists ranging from construction company executives, industry-related professionals and politicians.

One World Trade Center, completed in 2014, is a shiny example of a large scale curtainwall. Representatives from Women Construction Owners and Executives (WCOE), hard hats in hand, attended the House Administration Committee meeting to consider HR 863, The National Women's History Museum Commission Act, on Wednesday, April 2, 2014.

Washington State DOT Changes proposed for transportation DBE goals

People will have an opportunity to comment on a proposed amendment to the disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) participation goal for Washington State Department of Transportation projects that receive federal funding.

Construction projects built with federal funds must comply with federal laws and regulations concerning the use of certified minority- and women-owned DBE firms to complete a percentage of the work. Changes to the DBE participation goal are based on a recently completed disparity study.
