With membership more than tripling in 2011, Women Construction Owners & Executives USA has launched into this new decade determined to make this the most successful period in our nearly 30 year history.
Building on a strong foundation, WCOE is now recognized as the primary voice advocating for professional women who have chosen a non-traditional career in the construction industry. Not only is WCOE a respected resource on Capitol Hill about woman-owned and small business issues, but we are increasingly seen as an influential partner by federal and state agencies and business coalitions.
Add to this influence the stellar reputation WCOE enjoys with multi- national corporations who frequently reach out to find qualified subcontractors from our membership roles, and it is no surprise that women construction owners and executives throughout the country find membership in WCOE to be an investment that pays substantial dividends back to their companies.
Perhaps unique in the non-profit association world, WCOE is a member- driven organization. Members set the agenda and the organization’s policies. Professional staff is responsible for implementing those directives. Our members’ plethora of executive insight and abilities are utilized to the greatest extent possible and not wasted doing mundane administrative tasks. Time is a woman’s most important commodity and WCOE strives to make efficient use of whatever time we’re given by our members – whether it is reading the weekly e-newsletter (short, relevant and succinct), conference seminars and workshops (short, relevant and succinct), or committee conference calls (short, relevant and succinct).
With the simple vision – Creating contracting opportunities and influencing legislation favorable to small and woman-owned business – WCOE is focused on making a positive difference for women in the construction industry so there will come a time when gender will cease to be a business issue.
Join us and become a part of the new wave of successful women who understand the value of collaborating with like-minded entrepreneurs and executives. Our members have found that membership in WCOE is an investment that pays significant dividends back to them year after year. That’s why WCOE happily claims the title of the fastest growing professional organization in the country.
When I first decided to write a business plan, I reached out to all the women organizations for feedback and direction, and the WCOE ” came back with the best and most helpful information.

I met someone at a WCOE Conference earlier this year and that has turned out to be one of the most valuable business relationships that I have made anywhere. Without a doubt, WCOE is one of the most valuable and supportive ” associations for women business owners.
