Reno entrepreneur Vickie Frankovich will receive prestigious SBA Award

The Nevada District Office of SBA has just announced Vickie Frankovich as their “Women in Business Champion of the Year”. Frankovich is President of Building Solutions, Inc. with headquarters in Reno (NV) and offices in Sacramento and San Diego (CA). Her company is a general contracting firm specializing in industrial and commercial construction and specializes in Federal and Public Works construction contracts. Building Solutions, Inc. has completed over 130 projects during its 10 years of operation.

The nominees were judged by an independent panel of small business leaders on a variety of criteria, including staying power, growth in number of employees, increase in sales, financial reports, innovative products or services, response to adversity, evidence of contributions to community-oriented projects, and small business advocacy. The award will be presented to Frankovich at a ceremony in Las Vegas on May 10th.

Earlier this year, Frankovich was elected by her peers to serve on the Board of Directors of Women Construction Owners & Executives USA to represent the Western Region for the national organization. The organization’s President, Rosana Privitera Bionda, President of Mark One Electric in Kansas City (MO), congratulated Ms. Frankovich for “being a true leader in the construction industry and proving once again that women are not only astute entrepreneurs in every segment of the economy, but serve as champions for other women to achieve their dreams as well.”

The 27 year old Women Construction Owners & Executives USA advocates for laws and regulations that help provide women-owned small businesses a level playing field in the federal government marketplace as well as creating contracting opportunities for all women-owned businesses in the non-traditional field of construction.
